I'm very interested in ordering from Home Reserve (a sectional) but, without seeing it and sitting on it, I'm totally scared to order. Anyone in my area (Fraser, MI) have a piece of Home Reserve furniture they'd be willing to let me take a look at??? Crazy request, I know, but the customer service people at Home Reserve were the ones that suggested I try this this route!!!

So I was going to give a play-by-play of putting the sofa together because I thought fans of HR would like that. Then I realized that I was probably putting too much thought into this whole sofa blog thing.
It's been about a week with our new sofa and we love it. We got the corner sectional. It was easy and fun to put together. Luckily we had a power screwdriver that my parents have just given us as a housewarming present. That came in handy as did the gloves. We loved the Mission Chocolate col…

I have to say that I became a fan of HR pretty much over night. I am a rather... big fellow. It's not uncommon for chairs to snap under me. So finding stuff that can tolerate my weight has become a bit of an issue over the years.
My father found HR on the web and decided to order me the sofa. He thought I would have to have some help in putting it together. My initial worry was assembling the stuff myself. I'm pretty good with tools. But this isn't a plastic model kit or a giant church build ou…

I was tracking my cozy corner sectional via usps.com. They arrived today, all four boxes! I just talked to my husband and he is taking the foam out as I write this. I reminded him to use the gloves they provide to protect his hands. I'm so excited to get home and see what awaits us!

The problem: narrow hallways=no room to get our couches through the hallway. My husband and I realized that the couches were not going to fit right away. We took measurements and threw our hands up. I figured we'd just get small couches. Thus began my search for "small cheap couches". Home Reserve popped up on google right away but I was scared of a new name I had never seen before. I went to Walmart, KMart, Target, JCPenney and Macy's instead, hoping they would have a couch with dimensions smal…

We are pretty pleased over all... but there is one issue we hadn't thought of.... we have hard wood floors. The furniture slides on the floors. We have MANY pets and an 11 yr old... it's a pain to have to sit down carefullt so as to not slide or re-model unintentionally. Any ideas? I've thought about those lil stick on anti slide pads but want to hear what HAS worked for others. I do love this fabric so far. We've only had our stuff for a few days, so time will be the true test!

At HR we saw early on that the more fabrics we had the more likely a visitor would buy. When someone visits our site and then buys, we call that a conversion.
Sometimes that is all we are about, what was the conversion rate today?
Then we come to our senses and understand value, service and choice are what makes us stand out in the crowd.
Sure the more fabrics we offered made it easier for you to buy. But then came the challenge. 135+ fabrics, how do we keep these fabrics in stock? How do we…

Has it really only been since July? I finally have the money freed up to get the loveseat. I just ordered the Hudson, I think it'll go fine with my classic sofa and chair. Alas, they didn't have the cricket blue fabric, so I got the pulse sapphire to coordinate. Later, I'll get some thrown pillows in both colors to bring it all together. I finally have a grown-up complete living room!

So I finally got to get the fabric I always wanted-Quazar Red. The Covers should be here next week. I'm so anxious, I can't wait. After this I may be done decorating for a while. I still have the covers I made on the furniture right now. Different colors of brown. It's nice, my mom and my mother-in-law love the way it looks now. But it's not my RED sofa!

Ok, well now that we are all stuffed with turkey from Thanksgiving, it's time to get on the ball again. Cookie baking day was a hit at Grandmas and hopefully I can get the new picture up for you all.
We are working on a bunch of new things here at Home Reserve. We've had a lot of requests for plum or dark purple, so Casey and Scott went looking. They just ordered some new fabric samples yesterday in those colors. We hope to have them online soon. Hope you are all getting ready for Christmas. Don…

It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is almost here. It's time for my annual day after Thanksgiving cookie baking day. It started years ago with my children and now has progressed to my Grandkids and a few nieces and nephews somehow got included. Oh well the more the merrier. We used to make an assortment of cookies, but have only cut out ones now. That is what they like the best. You know frosting and sprinkles! I make new aprons every year for all the kids and Gandpa and me, this year the co…

That's me. Everyone around here is used to hearing me say that! I use stuff they were going to throw out from the printer as scrap paper. One year I even made them all Christmas gifts of Coffee cup coasters out of the tiny scraps of fabric left over. I've been taunting that we DO and ARE eco-friendly since we started here. Being a Cub Scoutmaster, I try to teach my little guys the importance of not wasting our environment. It really helps that I can use Home Reserve as an example and teaching to…

I finally got a craigslister to take the old couch, so I put together my chair! Being familiar with the method after putting together the sofa made it go really fast. And taking the suggestion of opening the foam about an hour before starting construction really did help it shape better. I love my furniture! I can't wait until payday to order the loveseat, and my mom wants an ottoman. LOL However, the cats are very unhappy there's nothing they can get under anymore, ha ha ha.

Our home is in dire need of replacement furniture. So much so, that we tossed our $1500+ living room set into the trash. That sleeper sofa & loveseat had seen our children grow from infants to adulthood and believe me ... it showed! The cushions sagged, the material was worn bare in mulitple spots, and there was a major rip along the back cushions where it was sewn to the back support. As we look back to its original purchase, it was money well spent and a fortune 20 years ago. Even though t…

I'm still researching and comparing costs/designs/comfort of many furniture pieces. I'm looking for a sectional sofa, but my favorite HR line is the Brooklyn design, which is not offered as a sectional. Any suggestions or ideas for ways I can merge these wants?

We're finishing our 1000 sf basement, it's almost ready for carpet! I started looking for furniture last November on Craigslist. I haven't found the sectional that I want, and I don't want to pay 2500.00 - 3500.00 for new either.
I happened upon Home Reserve about a month ago- I had never heard of them until then. I was SUPER skeptical of the comfort of the furniture. I can believe they're easy to put together, fabric is great, etc. Comfort? I don't know!
My mother is totally against me buying…
